Dr. Jeanette Wilburn

"The power that made the body heals the body. It happens no other way." – B.J. Palmer

As a chiropractor, Dr. Wilburn acts as a specialist in the neuromusculoskeletal system, focusing on how the body's structure — specifically the spine — affects the function of the nervous system and overall health. Her work is rooted in the philosophy that the body is a self-healing entity.

Core Responsibilities

Assessment & Diagnosis: She evaluates patients by reviewing medical histories and conducting physical exams that focus on posture, spinal alignment, and reflexes. She may also use diagnostic tools like X-rays or MRIs to identify misalignments, known as subluxations.

Spinal Adjustments: Her primary treatment involves manual therapy, specifically spinal manipulation. Using her hands and specialized instruments, she applies controlled force to realigned joints to improve motion, reduce pain, and restore proper nervous system communication.

Comprehensive Care: Beyond adjustments, she provides:

  • Soft-tissue therapy to relax tight muscles and relieve tension.
  • Rehabilitative exercises and stretches to maintain joint stability.
  • Lifestyle counseling on nutrition, ergonomics, and stress management to promote health and wellbeing

  1. Diversified Technique - This is a widely used type of chiropractic manipulation/ adjustment. The Diversified manipulation/adjustment entails a high-velocity, low-amplitude thrust that usually results in a cavitation of a joint (quick, shallow thrusts that cause the popping noise often associated with a chiropractic manipulation/adjustment).
  2. Extremity Manipulating/Adjusting - This is the application of chiropractic manipulation/adjustment to joints other than those of the spine, i.e., shoulder, elbow, wrist/hand/finger, hip, knee, ankle/foot/toe. Examples of conditions treated by extremity manipulation/ adjustment: carpal tunnel syndrome, gait, or posture-related problems.
  3. Activator Method - This is a hand-held, spring-loaded instrument-based manipulation/adjustment protocol. Instead of the manipulating/adjusting forces being delivered by hand, force is generated with the small appliance that delivers a lighter, but quicker, thrust than can be delivered by hand. Activator can be used as a primary treatment protocol for all patients or a selective method for patients who may not desire manual manipulation/adjustment or where manual manipulation/adjustment may be contraindicated.

Dr. Jeanette also uses gentle massage techniques and essential oils to create a relaxing experience for her Patients.
